Man sues for divorce over allegations of adultery

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Alabi, who was at an Ibadan customary court on Tuesday, March 29, insisted that, “I found condoms in my wife’s bag and she could not give a satisfactory explanation how she came about it.” The union between the pair was dissolved by a Mapo customary court already dissolved the union between the pair on the grounds of prostitution and adultery, Alabi, an automobile mechanic in Popo Yemoja area of the metropolis, was livid about his wife’s sexcapades. And according to Ademola Odunade, the president of the court, cheating on the part of a husband or wife remains deadly. “It is in view of the circumstances surrounding the issue at hand that the court decided to put an end to the relationship between Alabi and Basira. “Alabi shall take custody of the five and a half year-old child produced by the union, while Basira should be free to see the child in court anytime she wants,” the court president ruled. While explaining his ordeal with the wife in the courtroom, Alabi said: “Nemesis caught up with her recently when I met a man on her deeply engaged in sexual intercourse right in my house. “I was mad, but Basira quickly pleaded with me, promising not to do it again. “Though, I forgave her, but she is still neck deep in adultery.” Basira, who alleged to have been involved in prostitution, did not deny the allegations leveled against her, rather, she said: “It is true that there is no more love between I and Alabi” and pleaded with the court to grant her custody of the child after the divorce.
